The Iowa Midwives' Association is a professional trade association, and is comprised of traditional midwives providing home birth services in the state of Iowa. 
We exist in order to provide support, resources,and professional peer review.

 We support the Midwives Model of Care, which is based on the fact 
that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes.

We promote the Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential, 
as established by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM), 
as the preferred credential for non-nurse midwives. 

We hold as our goal positive, empowering birth experiences for women and families 
as we strive to preserve the tradition of midwifery care in Iowa.
